These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the MS Publishing website (mspublishing.co.id), including our book publishing services, the MS Stories reader/writer platform (Platform Baca-Tulis), our online Store, and any related service (collectively, the "Service"), operated by MS Publishing ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account, submitting a manuscript, purchasing a book, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility & Accounts

  • You must be able to form a legally binding contract to use the Service; if you are under the age required by applicable law, you may only use the Service with the involvement of a parent/guardian.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide (identity data, contact data, bank account data for royalty payouts) and for keeping your login credentials confidential.
  • One account is intended for one individual/entity. You are responsible for all activity that happens under your account.
  • You may delete your own account at any time via the "Delete Account" menu -- see our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data and published works when you do.

2. Our Services

Depending on which part of the Service you use, these Terms cover:

  • Book publishing services: editing, cover design, layout, ISBN/QRCBN submission to the National Library of Indonesia (Perpusnas)/IKAPI, and printing/production of your manuscript into a physical and/or digital book, per the package you purchase.
  • MS Stories (Platform Baca-Tulis): a user-generated-content (UGC) platform where you may publish novels, short stories, and poems free of charge, interact with readers (likes, comments, reviews), and -- for chapters/works you mark as paid -- earn a revenue share when readers unlock them using coins, subject to the revenue-share percentage in effect at the time of each transaction.
  • Coins: an in-platform virtual credit used by readers to unlock paid content, tip authors, or join optional promotions. Coins have no cash value outside the Service, are non-transferable between accounts, and are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. Coin prices, unlock costs, and revenue-share percentages may be changed by us at any time; changes apply only to future transactions, not ones already completed.
  • Author payouts: coin earnings and royalties from book sales may be withdrawn to your bank account/payout method once they meet the applicable minimum threshold, subject to identity verification and our review for fraud/abuse.
  • Global Distribution / translations: if you opt a work into our Global Distribution feature, you authorize us to generate AI-assisted translations of that work's title, synopsis, and/or chapters for international readers, subject to your review and publication approval before any translation goes live, and to a separate revenue-share percentage that may apply to coin transactions on the translated version (see the feature's own in-app disclosures for current rates).
  • Premium subscriptions, events, and the affiliate program: each may have its own specific rules, prizes, commission rates, or eligibility criteria, described where you sign up for them; those specific rules apply in addition to these Terms.
  • Store: purchase of physical and/or digital books published through MS Publishing, including authors purchasing their own printed books at cost.

3. Your Content

"Your Content" means any manuscript, novel/short story/poem, cover art, comment, review, profile information, or other material you submit or publish through the Service.

  • You keep your rights. You retain all copyright and ownership of Your Content. Publishing through the Service does not transfer ownership to us.
  • License you grant us. By publishing Your Content, you grant MS Publishing a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, and -- where you have opted in (e.g. Global Distribution) -- translate Your Content, solely for the purpose of operating, promoting, and providing the Service (including sharing excerpts/covers on our own social media and "For You" feed). This license ends when you remove the specific content or delete your account, except for copies already distributed to readers who lawfully accessed it beforehand (e.g. a reader who already unlocked/purchased a chapter keeps their access), and except as needed to comply with law or resolve disputes.
  • Your responsibility. You represent that Your Content is your own original work (or that you have the rights to publish it), does not infringe anyone else's copyright/trademark/other rights, and does not violate these Terms or applicable law.
  • Prohibited content includes, without limitation: content that infringes third-party intellectual property; plagiarized work; content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or promotes violence/hatred based on SARA (ethnicity, religion, race, inter-group relations) consistent with Indonesian law; sexual content involving minors in any form; content that impersonates another person or organization; and spam or content designed purely to farm coins/engagement.
  • Moderation. We may review, label (e.g. age rating, AI-generated label), restrict, unpublish, or remove Your Content, and suspend or terminate accounts, where we reasonably believe these Terms or applicable law have been violated, including in response to a content report submitted by another user.

4. Payments, Pricing & Refunds

  • Prices for publishing packages, coin top-up bundles, premium subscriptions, and Store purchases are shown at the time of purchase and may vary by region/currency.
  • Online payments are processed by third-party payment providers (currently iPaymu for Indonesia, and Stripe/Xendit/Midtrans where available for other regions/currencies); we do not store your full card or bank credentials.
  • Coin purchases and unlocks are final and non-refundable once completed, except where required by applicable consumer-protection law, or where we determine in our sole discretion that a transaction failed to deliver the paid content due to a fault on our part.
  • Physical book orders, publishing packages, and other non-coin purchases follow the cancellation/refund terms communicated to you during that specific order process.

5. Intellectual Property of the Service

The MS Publishing name, logo, "MS Stories" branding, and the design/software of the Service itself (excluding Your Content) are owned by us or our licensors and may not be copied, reproduced, or used without our prior written permission.

6. Copyright Complaints

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, please contact us using the details in Section 11 with: (a) a description of the copyrighted work, (b) the location (URL) of the allegedly infringing content, (c) your contact information, and (d) a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorized. We will review and take appropriate action, which may include removing the content and/or suspending the account of a repeat infringer.

7. Prohibited Conduct

In addition to Section 3 above, you agree not to:

  • Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the Service beyond what we publicly permit (e.g. our sitemap);
  • Attempt to bypass paywalls, rate limits, or anti-abuse measures (e.g. reading-time verification, referral/leaderboard anti-cheat checks);
  • Create multiple accounts to farm bonuses, referrals, or leaderboard rankings;
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service's servers or networks;
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, including money laundering through coin purchases or fraudulent chargebacks.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, at our discretion, for violation of these Terms, suspected fraud/abuse, or as required by law. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time as described in Section 1. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (e.g. Sections 3, 5, 9, 10) remain in effect.

9. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW. We do not guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular earnings, sales, or reader engagement will result from using it. To the maximum extent permitted by law, MS Publishing is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable Indonesian consumer-protection law.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated via this page or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law & Contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will first be attempted to be resolved amicably; where required, jurisdiction lies with the competent Indonesian courts.
